University Interscholastic League
TJC To Host 20th. Annual UIL Competition: Tyler Junior College will host the 2009 Region AA III University Interscholastic League spring meet beginning Friday, April 24, on the main campus. This will be the 20th year TJC has hosted this event.
More than 1,500 high school students from approximately 64 conference 2-A schools in eight East Texas independent school districts are expected to participate. The students will compete in academic, theatrical and athletic events. - The activities will begin with One-Act Play Competition Friday, April 24 in Wise Auditorium.
- Academic events will be held Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 in Jenkins Hall, Potter Hall, Genecov Science Building, Pirtle Technology Building and Wise Cultural Arts Building. (See schedule for exact locations of contests.)
- Men's & Women's Tennis Tournaments will be held April 22-23.
- Golf Tournament will be April 20-21 in Bullard.
- Track Events will be May 1-2 at Whitehouse High School.
- SPECIAL NOTE CONCERNING GOLF: Officials will be used.
SPECIAL NOTE CONCERNING SPEECH JUDGES: Each school is responsible for bringing qualified judges. See page 9 of the Handbook for complete information. Please note that the Speech Director will need to hire additional qualified judges. Schools and Districts are encouraged to send in names (see appropriate form below and/or at the end of the booklet.)
