Tutoring Services - Tutee

Where do I go to get a tutor?

Go to the 3rd floor of Rogers Student Center, East Side.  When you step off the elevator you are in the Learning Loft.

What next?

You will then need to ask the assistant for a Tutor Request Card.  Fill this out and then you may receive a list of available tutors for your courses.

I got the list...now what?

It is up to you to contact a tutor from the list.  We provide a phone number, and in most cases, an email address.  Once you contact a tutor you will set up a mutually agreed on time to meet in the Learning Loft.  It's a good idea to give them an idea of what you look like or what you will be wearing so that the first meeting goes smooth.

Do I have to meet them in the Learning Loft?

Yes.  All individual tutoring is done in the Loft with the exception of some Computer Courses, which are in T-315. Tutoring in these Computer courses needs to be pre-approved by the Tutor Coordinator.

What about the tutoring labs around campus?

There are course specific labs on campus where you can get tutoring on a "walk-in" basis. You will still need to come to the Learning Loft and fill out a Tutor Request Card.  Follow this link for a list of lab locations: Tutoring Labs

Anything else I need to know about procedures?

Just that when you meet with a tutor in the Loft you will need your Student ID to scan in, oh, and be sure and fill out the form that your tutor will have with them...it makes a difference in whether they get paid or not.
