The Surveying and Mapping Summer Camp is a public service introducing young people to surveying and mapping activities and career opportunities in the surveying profession.  The camp is conducted free of charge to the students who participate.

Over 100 young people from around Texas have attended previous camps.  We're providing information about this year's camp as it becomes available.

Sunday, June 3

• 5:00-6:00 PM:  Registration – TJC staff –Hudnall Hall
• Bowling & Miniature Golfing & Pizza
• Bus leaves the dorms after registration and return by 10 pm

Monday, June 4

• Breakfast- Roger’s student center 7:30-8:00 sponsored by SEFT
• 8:00-9:30 AM:  Surveying on the Internet – Shane Neally - Room T-244 & T-246          
• 9:45-11:30 AM:  History of land surveying in Texas and History of surveying equipment  – Nedra Foster and D. D. Shine - Room T-118
• Lunch at Joe’s Italian Restaurant – sponsored by Stanger Surveying
• 1:00-4:30 PM:  Appraisal District – Ron Waldrip - Room T-118
  (Field trip to the Smith County Appraisal District)
