Be sure to bring with you an open mind and a good sense of humor. It is my firm belief that the college classroom is a place where students may freely think and speak on important topics and leave a more learned citizen. Therefore, I also look forward to many meaningful and thought-provoking classroom discussions. Teaching Philosophy: I believe it is essential to establish a positive and productive rapport with students, in order ot help students reaise their level of confidence to reach their educational goals. I think a teacher should always appear enthusiastic and positive and try in earnest to anticipate students’ individual needs and concerns. I believe that humor is also essential in humanizing learning relationships and stimulating authentic dialogue between students and instructors. In other words, I believe students should enjoy the class and take with them an experience they will not soon forget. Method of Evaluation of Students: In both history and geography classes, a student’s performance is evaluated with respect to performance in four categories (1) examinations; (2) bonus points; (3) participation and (4) class rules. Professional Associations: - Phi Theta Kappa (Honor Society)
- Phi Alpha Theta (International Honor Society in History)
- Suma Cum Laude Recognition
