CERTIFIED TO TEACH:
Academic Credentials: | | Year of Graduation | | M.P.A. Institution | ETSU | 1969 | | B.A. Institution | ETSU | 1967 | Greeting to the Student: I would like to give you a personal welcome to TJC. I have taught at this institution for 36 years and can say that the faculty and staff are the finest anywhere. We are interested in each student, not only academically, but also as a person as shown by small classes that are taught by qualified instructors. We know your time spent here will be rewarding and memorable. We are looking forward to assisting you in accomplishing your goals. Teaching Philosophy: Every student should have the opportunity to learn. All learning material should be presented in a logical and sequential order and assessment should be in a comprehensible manner. In conjunction to class time, outside assignments are also given to promote student growth in the field of Economics. To insure understanding of the material and testing procedures, students should have access to the instructor if needs arise outside of class. My primary goal is to prepare students so they can be successful at universities and in the workforce. Method of Evaluation of Students: Economics 2301 and 2302 usually have 3 one-hour multi-choice tests, a team project, and a final exam.
