My teaching philosophy is centered in “social learning.” I believe that education is a dynamic process and that we learn best when we engage in the process of discovery along with other people. It requires people to be exposed to new and different ideas and different ways of thinking. It requires that we question what we know and why we know it, that we think critically and ask the tough questions that need to be asked. We then have to start making decisions about how to use that information we have learned and put it into practice. That crucial step, putting knowledge to use in our lives, is an important component of becoming a productive member of society at large. Method of Evaluation of Students:
Because of the volume of information covered in these courses, methods of evaluation include chapter quizzes, several unit exams, some short essay and journal writing assignments, and a comprehensive final exam. Professional Associations:
