Medical Laboratory Technology Applicants Information
Dear Prospective Student,
Thank you for your interest in the Tyler Junior College Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Program. It is a pleasure to send this packet of information in response to your inquiry. Tyler Junior College offers a two year program designed to provide understanding, proficiency and skill in Medical Laboratory Technology. Upon graduating from this program with an Associate in Applied Science Degree and is eligible to apply for admission to sit for the certification examination administered by the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA) or other certifying agencies for medical laboratory technology. This program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), 8410 W. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Suite 670, Chicago, IL 60631-3415. Placement into the program is awarded to individuals based on consideration of all admission data. A limited number of students can be accepted into each class; therefore, it is to your advantage to complete all requirements and submit your application by the application deadline. Applications received by May 23, 2008 are guaranteed consideration for acceptance into the MLT Program during the first admission committee meeting. If the class for Fall 2008 is not filled during the first meeting, applications arriving up to June 27, 2008 will be considered, as spaces are available.
