The Apache Signer“The Apache Signers” is a sign language performance group started in September 2008 by Rhonda McKinzie. Previously she was involved in the sign singing group “The Rainbow Connection” at Texas Woman’s University in the early 1980’s.
2008-2009 Apache Signers The group performed the National Anthem and the Alma Mater at 3 home football games.
Upper level students have begun to regularly sign children’s stories in ASL at Barnes and Noble. Also, they performed at Clarkston Elementary for the sign language class which included staff and parents of deaf children. The group was a hit at the Broadway Square Mall when they performed their Christmas program! |
