Welcome to TJC’s Sign Language Interpreter Training Program! Exemplary Status Awarded in 2001 & 2005

Change is in the air! The department of the Sign Language Interpreter Training Program continues to modify its curriculum to meet the demands and requirements of the Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI) Exams.  As you browse our site, you will find information about our Associate of Applied Science Degree and our Certificate (for those who have a degree or are pursuing another degree but want training to become a sign language interpreter.)

One thing that has not changed is the great need for certified sign language interpreters not only in Texas but throughout the United States! 

Take a look at our ASL Club and our new sign language performance group, “The Apache Signers” activities!  Check our Calendar for important dates, events, workshops and performances, including ASL Story Time at Barnes and Noble.
