Top Ten Scholarship

Students of high academic caliber are sought by many colleges and universities and often have the opportunity to select from a variety of attractive scholarships offers. Although Tyler Junior College strives to keep higher education accessible and affordable to every qualified student, the College must offer more competitive scholarships in order to encourage the best and brightest East Texas students to attend TJC.

The Top Ten Scholarship Program was designed to attract exceptional students to the College from TJC's service area. Top Ten recipients must be ranked as one of the "top ten" graduates of their high school classes, including both public and private schools.

Presently supported by unrestricted gifts to the Tyler Junior College Foundation's annual fund, the Top Ten Scholarship Program will be funded through individual endowments of $25,000 to guarantee that TJC can offer these scholarships in perpetuity.

Your Top Ten Scholarship will bring the best and brightest students to TJC!

  • Your $25,000 gift will establish a Top Ten Scholarship Endowment in your name or the name of an individual you wish to honor.
  • You may specify a particular area of study that you wish to fund.
  • You may choose to fund your Top Ten Scholarship with a contribution of cash, securities or an estate gift such as a bequest, trust or other beneficial planned giving instrument.
  • You may elect to make installment gifts for up to a five-year period with your scholarship joining the Top Ten family the fall semester of the year following the complete funding of your endowment.

In appreciation and recognition of your generous gift, you will receive a brass hand-etched plaque bearing your likeness or the likeness of the individual you are honoring with your Top Ten Endowment. A second plaque will be placed in a prominent area of the White Administrative Services Center on the main TJC campus. The Foundation will also provide you with the opportunity to get to know your Top Ten recipient at an annual scholarship event.
