Academics are the main emphasis. All cheerleaders/mascots are full-time student athletes who must maintain a 2.0 grade point average to remain eligible for participation. Benefits include advising, tutoring, and resume assistance. All student athletes at Tyler Junior College are actively involved in community service activities (i.e.: Jerry Lewis Telethon, Walk a Mile for a Special Child, ARC, Walk for Diabetes, etc…). All community service activities are designed to enhance interactions within the community.
