Automotive Technology

Automotive program courses will enable the participant to seek employment as an entry-level technician.

If you’re interested in a career as an automotive service technician, Tyler Junior College can provide the training you need. Today’s automobiles are equipped with multiple computers and extensive electronics. Servicing vehicles equipped with active suspension, satellite guidance systems and computer controlled, multi-valve engines requires highly specialized training.

Tyler Junior College’s Automotive Technology program is certified by the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF).

Graduating students entering the job market can expect to earn between $25,000 and $30,000 per year plus benefits and vacation.

An experienced Master ASE certified technician has a potential to earn $80,000 and up annually.
