Number of Years at TJC: 6 Other Institutions and Number of Years: Previous years of experience was working as a Programmer/Analyst for 10 years prior to coming to TJC. Teaching Philosophy: My primary goal is to assist students in developing critical thinking skills that will enable them to better understand the issues they will ultimately face in life. I also strive to create a teaching environment that is friendly to discussion and questions, where students are encouraged to participate. Greeting to Students: Welcome to Computer Information Systems. I strive to prepare each student for a successful career in their chosen discipline by giving them professional expertise and an ability to progress through hands-on experience. My curriculum is designed to prepare students for success as computer science professionals. I really enjoy the field of Computer Science and the challenges it brings and I hope to bring this enthusiasm to my classroom. Statement of usual method of evaluation of students (number of tests, essay paper, book reviews, etc.): My courses consist of 3 - 4 multiple choice on-line tests, hands-on lab assignments, and a project which encompasses all the skills that have been learned for the semester.
