How to Apply

Applying to Tyler Junior College is easy.

  1. You currently have two options:
    • You can submit an online application via the Texas Common Application. Be sure to have it submitted specifically to Tyler Junior College.

    • Download an Application and mail it to Tyler Junior College.

  2. Submit either your official high school transcript or your GED scores. High school transcripts must be official (no faxed copies) with the date of graduation posted on the transcript. High School transcripts are not necessary if you are transferring from another accredited college or university.

  3. Submit official THEA scores (unless you are exempt). You may also submit scores from an approved THEA alternative test such as the Accuplacer or Compass test. The TJC Testing Center offers both the THEA and the Accuplacer. Check with the Testing Center for available test times and fees. If you think you may be exempt from taking the THEA because of your SAT, ACT, TAKS scores, or you have completed previous college coursework, please check this page for a complete list of exemptions.

  4. Submit official transcripts from any accredited college or university that you have previously attended. Faxed or photocopied versions will not be considered official copies.
