ACE Program Summary
Program completion Options for certification:
Upon completion of this initial training, individuals will be eligible to teach in a Texas public school on a probationary teaching certificate. TJC will maintain a list of ACE students available for employment, but each individual is responsible for obtaining their own employment. First-Year Teaching (Internship): - Employed full-time at an independent school district or TEA accredited private school
- First year of teaching under ACE program supervision (on a probationary teaching certificate)
- Teach in the content area of certification
- Required mentoring program
- Required weekly seminars
Alternately, students may choose to do one semester of clinical teaching to complete program requirements. The ACE program coordinator secures placements for clinical teachers in local school districts. Clinical Teaching: - Placed with a supervising teacher full time for 12 weeks
- Required mentoring program
- 2 hours of weekly student teaching workshops
