ACE - Program Description

Certification is achieved through successful completion of training, state exams and teaching internship. The program requires approximately 18 months to complete.

Training will reflect the state teacher proficiencies and TExES competencies. TJC Accelerated Certification for Educators Program has created an individualized program to meet the needs of each content or certificate area. Training sessions are held Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Program training includes:

100 contact hours in professional development
188 contact hours of content area education
30 hours of field-based experience
Field Experience: One-year internship (employment with independent school district)
OR Clinical Teaching (12 weeks Student Teaching)
Pass all required TExES exams
